5 Ways to Show Some Love to Your Furry Friend
1. Home Made Dog Treats
If you've never tried making any home made treats for your dog, this formula is super simple and is worth trying out.
It only takes 3 ingredients and 10 minutes of bake time.
- 1 cup of mashed sweet potatoes
- 1 cup of whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup of peanut butter
Important note:
Avoid peanut butter that contains Xylitol as they are very toxic to dogs. Avoid buying peanut butters with buzz words such as “reduced sugar,” “diabetic-friendly,” “cavity-free,” or “no sugar added." Most national brands should be fine. Double check the ingredients label to see if it contains xylitol before you purchase. You can find a list of products that contains xylitol HERE.

2. Make a Paw Print
Create everlasting memories with your furry companion by making a paw print. Life's short, and even shorter for dogs. Capture those precious moments you have with them.

3. Starbucks Secret Dog Menu
If you didn't know, Starbucks has a secret dog menu. Ask the barista for a "Puppacino" and they will happily prepare it for you.
Your dog will love it because it's essentially whipped cream in a cup.
Just a friendly note though, it's probably the best to give it sparingly or completely avoid it if your pup is lactose intolerant.
4. Go on a Hike / Walk
This might be obvious, but dogs love walks.
Going on walks not only benefits your dogs physically, mentally, and emotionally, but is also great for your own personal health.
If you have the time, take them out on a hike to burn off all the extra calories from those treats and the Starbucks drink.
5. Donate to Your Local Shelter
Owning a dog is one of the most special experiences one can have. The relationship and memories you have with your dog last a lifetime.
While your dog may be lucky to have a great owner like you, there are many other dogs that are less fortunate.
Consider donating to your local shelter to help other dogs so they can have a second chance and be loved by others too.
And that's it! Hopefully this list gives you some ideas on how you can spend time with your pup on this year's Valentine's Day.
